Sunsara Capital principals are direct owners of solar plants in Sicily, Sardinia and Lazio including ground-mounted, green-houses and rooftops. Our plants enjoy internal rates of return in high double digits that we believe are well above industry averages. The process of making these investments, from the first decision to invest in that country, to site selection and project development, through construction, financing, operations, maintenance and asset management of our owned plants has given us unique experience and perspective in how to do principal investments right.

Our approach to principal investing in solar projects builds on the important financial reality of infrastructure investment that we cannot pick up our asset and walk away. As such we invest a lot of time and study to get the country and local government right. While we were investigating the Italian market, we also investigated the Czech Republic, Romania, Bulgaria, and Greece and chose not to invest in them in that time period, decisions that served us well.
